Campaign Manager for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the December elections would be a one-touch victory for the incumbent government.

Speaking about the parties’ readiness ahead of the polls, Peter Mac Manu expressed confidence that President Akufo-Addo will win over 1.5 million votes.

“The campaign team and I have been working extremely hard because our target and objectives are to win one-touch with a margin of victory of over 1.5 million votes in the presidential.”

He also added that 66% of the parliamentary seats will be won by the party’s parliamentary candidate within the various constituencies.

The campaign manager in an interview with JoyNews’ Mamavi Aboagye Thursday, stated that even though pollsters and researchers have predicted the victory of the Akufo-Addo-led government, his campaign team is not going to relent on its efforts.

Mr Manu said the party would rather work hard and achieve a maximize leverage over their opponent.

His comment comes on the back of a research conducted by the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana which indicated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is likely to win the upcoming presidential election in December.

According to the survey, 51.7% of respondents said they will vote for the incumbent President Akufo-Addo while 40.4% opted for the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama.

However, Mac Manu noted that the magic to the victory of elections is hard work and not predictions.

“We are not going to be complacent, we are going to work hard…our president and his vice are working extremely hard so if you don’t work hard manna would not fall from heaven.”
